IIM Jammu and DICCI Meeting for Small Business Development Units

In continuum of celebrating 75 years of Indian Independence – ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’,  a meeting was convened at IIM Jammu on 25 September 2022 for the initiative of developing 75 Small Business Development Units (SBDU) across the country, under the aegis of PMKVY 3.0 supported by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and Ministry of Education (MoE).

The meeting was presided by Padma Shri Dr. Milind Kamble, Chairman – DICCI & Chairman – IIMJ Board of Governors. Padma Shri Ravi Kumar Narra, National President and Mr. Sanjiv Dangi, National Vice President were present from DICCI leadership. Dr. B. S. Sahay, Director IIM Jammu led the faculty team with Dr. Jabir Ali and Dr. Prateek Jain.

SBDUs shall transform existing entrepreneurs in non formal sectors to formal sector. SBDU shall work in enterprise development of small informal businesses in following steps,
• Identification,
• Hand Holding,
• Capacity building, and
• Attaching them with the State skill department for development and growth.

The discussions were held towards structured launching of the entrepreneurs training batch under PMKVY. The target is to train and develop 400 small enterprise in next 2 years.
